How Travis the Chimp went kookoo
Here’s a list of edifying video clips:
What has really happened (our comments in red, Travis’ in italics):
- Travis was 15 years old, suffered from Lyme disease and had 200 lbs (90 kg) – trait Bush was treated of Lyme disease a few years back (wp, cbc)
- In his youth he appeared in ads for Old Navy and Coca-Cola, at the Maury Povich Show and a TV pilot – cultured and with a penchant for the finer things in life
- Travis would go for rides in his owners’ cars and trucks (they had a towing business), opened doors, dressed himself, brushed his teeth, was toilet trained, would bathe, eat at the table and drink wine from a long-stemmed glass, surfed the ‘net for porn and watched TV with the remote – if he kept the toilet seat down, he was certainly the ideal mon!
- His owner was Sandra Herold and her 55 year old friend Charla Nash – There are a few documentaries around the sex trips taken by old, rich white women to Africa (reuters, ipinions). There’s even a German tourist who went berserk in Kenya in a similar episode (indy).
- Travis also went kookoo in 2003 when he escaped from his owners’ car and roamed the streets of downtown Stamford. He was caught only when he got exhuasted. – Travis
: We goin’ downtooown, baby! Let good ol’ Travis show you a goooood tiiiime! - The day of his death, the owner had called her friend for help. She could not manage him, even though she had given him Xanax. – Travis
: Bitch, what did you put in my tea, I feel funny?!? NOOO! We ain’t gonna talk about our relationship again! I don’t luv u, can’t you get it through your head?!? - When her friend arrived, Travis attacked her as she was getting off the car. - Travis
: What don’t tell me that you thought bringing a 2nd old, useless pussy will make me happy? I liked to screw you when you were younger, now you’re like used tires! Take your pussy off my face, you make me sick! Let me just go away, fo’ Chris’sakes! Gimme the key, bitch! JUST GIMME THE FREAKIN’ KEY!!! - The owner came back with a butcher’s knife and started to stab him (numerous times) – Travis
: Oh, no. Not again. You wanna stab me cuz I won’t pleasure u no mo’?!? And what is that? You call that a knife?!? THIS is a knife!! And I won’t stab u wid it no matter how well u beg! - Police and an ambulance came to care for the owner’s friend, then Travis attacked a few policemen. As they ran to their cars, Travis went after them, and opened the door of a cruiser. The police officer inside shot Travis numerous times. - Travis
: Ye freaks! I’ll show you who’s the King of this castle! What’s that, mon? Drop the gun, let’s fight it out, mano a orangutano! - Travis ran away and seeked shelter in his cage, where he died. – Travis
: Checkmate. ‘Tis a good day 2 die.
At the end, a few clips from Monkeybone – watch it, if you’re in the mood for a weird and krazy comedy.

Viata bestiala a magarilor columbieni
They love their burros in Colombia, and nowhere more so than in San Antero, a small town on the Caribbean coast. They love them so much they built a statue to celebrate the "noble beast" and for four days at Easter every year the whole town goes donkey-mad with the world's only Donkey carnival.
"At the beginning people just made fun of me," recalls Cristoval Correa of the first time he proposed the party more than 20 years ago. "But now look," he says proudly surveying the 400 or so donkeys and their owners readying themselves for the donkey stampede which kicks off the annual festivities. A few of the locals have really gone to town this year, dressing up their beasts as soap stars or paramilitary leaders in a bid to win the donkey costume competition.
The original idea of the festival, explains Correa, "Was to protect the donkey;to stop it from going extinct." Oh kaye In any case, by this point Correa's floppy-eared little brainchild has taken on a life of its own. The 20th celebration of the National Festival of the Donkey was marked by the inauguration of the Burrodome, San Antero's own version of Rio de Janeiro's Sambadome. That's right, they built a stadium where man and beast can hang out together, grab a beer, and listen to Colombia's vallenato legends belt it out in competition for "King of the Donkey Festival."
Despite the ready admission of many a Northern Colombian male to occasional (or frequent) dalliances with the brown beast, Correa is not happy with the implication that San Antero celebrates the animal due to collective zoophilia.
"Please, it is a sacred being that has allowed the town of San Antero to be internationally recognised and has become a symbol of our community," he says. "Perhaps there were some indiscretions in the old days when sex was taboo and the kids could not have sex until they were 21, but not today."
Incidentally, while he was carrying on at me attempting to debunk the myth, the mayor of San Antero was right next to us, handing out t-shirts with a donkey on the front surrounded by the words "A good Coste?±o never forgets his first love."
Din pacate, toate acele video pe care intentionam sa le arat au disparut.. Ramane pe alta data :(

Obama finds Osama!
Two profs from UCLA, Thomas Gillespie and John Agnew used a variety of methods to pinpoint Osama’s location.
Forget remote caves, science and deduction put Al Qaeda leader in city near border

WASHINGTON–After all these years, where is Osama bin Laden? Two geography professors think they know.
Professors Thomas Gillespie and John Agnew of the University of California at Los Angeles used satellite-imagery analysis and elaborate geographic methods to theorize that bin Laden is in the city of Parachinar in the mountains of northwestern Pakistan.
The professors believe bin Laden might be in one of three walled compounds in the city, about 20 kilometres from the Afghan border.
The Al Qaeda leader has been hiding since the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the U.S., occasionally surfacing in video recordings released by supporters.
He has resisted efforts to find him, even with a $25 million (U.S.) reward for information.
"We believe that our work involves the first scientific approach to establishing his current location," Gillespie and Agnew wrote in the MIT International Review. "The methods are repeatable and can be updated with new information obtained from the U.S. intelligence community."
Using bin Laden's last reported whereabouts, the mountains of Tora Bora, Afghanistan, they employed "theories that predict how plants and animals distribute themselves over space and over time." They deduced that Parachinar is the most likely refuge, where the Al Qaeda leader could have electricity, personal privacy and a few bodyguards while remaining protected from aerial view.
Staying near a large city should reduce the risk of being found in a military raid, compared to a small city or isolated structure, they said.
What is more, "Parachinar has a long history of housing mujahideen during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in the 1980s, so it most likely contains a large number of Taliban soldiers who cross over from here into Afghanistan."
Gillespie and Agnew did not believe bin Laden was holed up in a cave, a popular view fostered by former U.S. president George W. Bush.
"A cave would have to have a sealed entrance, be heated and ventilated, and have supplies transported to the cave monthly or annually," they said.
"We feel that most of these requirements would have physical manifestation that might easily be seen from space, and that the cave hypothesis is unlikely but could be tested."
I’m willing to bet $1000 that they’re right. Then again, we wouldn’t be able to check, and has Power ever listened to Reason?
