One of my favourite cartoon sites, xkcd.com has recently sent me on a trip down memory lane. First, let’s look at the cartoon:

One of the most passionate and beautiful pleas for tolerance in relationships (which is actually the secret to a long-term relationship) comes from Dan Savage, a syndicated sex columnist who happens to also be openly gay.

the secret vasectomy

I came across some idiotic prose, indicative for what passes as entertainment or "good essay" on the tubes these days. It made it in the "best of craigslist" and collected about 827 votes on craigslist. And it reminded me of a story I lived.

VIDEO: Katya Gerasimova screws up Russian opposition

What is better than bringing down a Government with an old-fashioned sex scandal? Obviously, bringing down the Opposition. And that is precisely what Putin has masterfully done with Katia – at least, according to those with intimate knowledge of the problemher ins and outs.

LE: YouTube has removed the video, so I will add it soon, if I can, back to the list with my own commentary. Left in the playlist are some possibly related videos – close, but no cookie. This video is important not so much for its PG-13 sexuality (most sex scenes are blacked out), but for how “democracy” works in Russia. By censoring the video YouTube only shows that their “non-evil” version of goodness is at least as corrupt, if not even more so. Meanwhile, Putin laughs in his palace.

Katya Gerasimova Is she the most effective government spy unleashed on the Russian opposition, or simply a sex pet / geisha / escort for the elite whose exploits have been filmed with or without her knowledge?

Her modeling agency, New Best Models, tells us her measurements..

Height: 5'8.5"
Eyes: Grey - blue
Breast: 34"
Hair: Dark grey
Waist: 24"
Shoes size: 7
Hip: 34"
Age: 19

..and shows us some photos:

The Telegraph completes the picture:

Offering her body, sex, and drugs from cocaine to marijuana as an inducement, ''Katya'', as she is usually known, has tried and often succeeded in bedding at least half-a-dozen high-profile Kremlin critics and other political figures. The damage to reputations has varied from serious to negligible depending on her victim's marital status and response.

Her latest scalp was Viktor Shenderovich, a journalist and the scriptwriter on Russia's former version of the Spitting Image television satire.

Mr Shenderovich, who is married and has a daughter, admits that he slept with Ms Gerasimova but claims he was set up by the Kremlin.

His credibility as an authoritative critic of the Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin, appears to have been at least partly dented and his marriage is reportedly in trouble.

The editor of Russian Newsweek magazine also fell under Ms Gerasimova's spell and was filmed in his underpants chopping up what looked like cocaine after having sex.

A clutch of anti-Kremlin opposition figures and activists, including a man resembling the leader of the National Bolshevik Party, have also been caught in flagrante delicto.

But unlike Soviet times, when the secret service used compromising material to blackmail, Ms Gerasimova's exploits have been widely publicised in grainy videos on the internet.

The footage is often accompanied by mocking music and subtitles. It has taken a few weeks for the victims to realise that they have all been set up by the same woman.

Yet little is known about Ms Gerasimova beyond that she is in her twenties and is registered with an online modelling agency. Nicknamed ''Moo-Moo'' after the surname she uses on a social networking site, men said she used different first names and was highly persistent in her advances.

Is she a victim or a predator? Was she indeed some sort of Russian Nikita Devochka, working for the money or for staying alive, or did she think she’s helping Mother Russia? The rest of the videos in the playlist below will hopefully give an answer..

Pussy inside

The Vagina has been subjected to long, desexualizing monologues and dominates most of the thinking processes of the free male. Still, most men are unable to find their way inside it. We asked a surgeon to provide directions.

Le ragazze. Subject of countless hours of daydreaming as well as wet dreaming, the pussy remains largely unknown to the male public precisely because there is no advantage to knowing it M.D.-style. The skill of being able to go in blindfolded and push the right button(s) is not so much  a knowledge-based secret, but rather an instinct or experience-based carrot.

On the other hand, a little bit of knowledge has seldom hurt people. Let us present it to you. The show will start when you press the play button.

Besides, a troubling trend in cosmetic surgery involves modification of the vagina. Something this silly is unlikely to be done by emancipated, self-assured, self-confident women. So getting familiarized with the inner workings of your wife’s or girlfriend’s vagina will make you a more informed consumer when she will ask you to pay for a weird sounding “cosmetic intervention” Cow

happy smiley To be honest, not only that most jokes found by RD to be funniest were rather old, but I felt I know quite a few much funnier. Visiting the countryside on a hunting trip, the well-dressed man from Stockholm takes aim and shoots a duck. But the fowl drops into a farmer's field, and the farmer claims it. Since both want it, the farmer suggests settling the dispute with an old fashioned hick-kick. "I kick you as hard as I can in the crotch, then you do the same to me," he explains. "Whoever screams the least gets the bird."
The city man agrees. So the farmer winds up and delivers a crushing blow to the man's privates, and he collapses to the ground. Twenty minutes later, when he finally manages to stand, he gasps, "My turn."
"Nah," says the farmer, turning away. "You can keep the duck."

The starlet hands the lawyer $5. Now it's her turn. "What goes up a mountain on three legs and comes down on four?"
The lawyer is dumbstruck. He scans the Internet, flips through his pocket encyclopedia, and texts every scientist he can find. No dice. Hours later, he wakes up the starlet, hands her $50, and asks, "So what's the answer?" Without a word, she hands him $5 and goes back to sleep.

A priest, a minister, and a rabbi want to see who's best at his job. So they each go into the woods, find a bear, and attempt to convert it. Later they get together. The priest begins: "When I found the bear, I read to him from the Catechism and sprinkled him with holy water. Next week is his First Communion." "I found a bear by the stream," says the minister, "and preached God's Holy Word. The bear was so mesmerized that he let me baptize him." They both look down at the rabbi, who is lying on a gurney in a body cast. "Looking back," he says, "maybe I shouldn't have started with the circumcision." --Submitted by Mitchell Hauser

How did RD choose these jokes? Good question.

In January, RD localized editions from around the world asked their readers to submit their favourite jokes, which were then trimmed to 10. Then readers voted the best. Hopefully, the elections weren’t stolen and / or run on Diebold machines.

In USA, the jury was comprised of:

  • Sid Caesar: His 1950s TV hit, Your Show of Shows, introduced America to Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Neil Simon, and Woody Allen.
  • Monty Hall: Television producer and host of Let’s Make a Deal.
  • Arthur Hiller: Directed comedies like The In-Laws and Silver Streak.
  • Rocky Kalish: Wrote for All in the Family, Maude, and Good Times.
  • Hal Kanter: Bob Hope’s chief gag writer. Wrote Road to Bali for Hope and Bing Crosby.
  • Gary Owens: The voice of Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In.
  • John Rappaport: Writer and producer for M*A*S*H.
  • Matty Simmons: Founder of National Lampoon; producer of Animal House and Vacation.

Here are the top 10 clean jokes in the USA, chosen using a similar approach:

Winner: A Priest, a Minister and a Rabbi

"I found a bear by the stream," says the minister, "and preached God’s holy word. The bear was so mesmerized that he let me baptize him."

Agua de Beber

The boyfriend arm pillow Made in Japan reminded me of a famous song, written by Jobim and made famous by Gertrud Alberto. Here it is in its original interpretation and various covers.

waterfall"Agua de Beber" ("Water to Drink") is a bossa nova jazz standard composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim, with lyrics written by Vinicius de Moraes. The English lyrics were written by Norman Gimbel.

The lyrics:

Eu quis amar
mas tive medo
E quis salvar
meu coração

Mas o amor
sabe um segredo
O medo pode matar
o seu coração

R: Água de beber
Água de beber camará
Água de beber
Água de beber camará

Eu nunca fiz
coisa tão certa
Entrei pra escola
do perdão of forgiveness

A minha casa
viva aberta
Abri todas
do coração

R:..

I wanted to love
but I was afraid
I wanted to protect
my heart

But love
knows a secret
Fear is able to kill
your heart

R: Water to drink
Water to drink, my friend
Water to drink
Water to drink, my friend

I never did
a thing so certain
I entered the school
I opened all the doors

My house
lives open
as portas
of my heart

Was Hemingway a KGB agent or is that bull?

Recent revelations of a former KGB agent seem to suggest that Hemingway had been recruited by KGB. To add insult to the injury, he was apparently dropped because he was no good. They didn't like his prose, I assume.

Hemingway Most of us know Hemingway from one of the books listed below and know little about his fantastic life. Yet he was a war hero, he fought on the left side most of the time, especially in the Spanish civil war, he enjoyed traveling for long periods of time and he committed suicide only when life had become unbearable in a body worn out by the war and more recent Kenyan (mis)adventures and accidents. The following list of documentaries, interviews and Hemingway-centered video clips attempt to cast some light on the lesser known corners of this ensemble.

It is this proximity to left-wing causes that fuelled the growing acceptance of the claim, made by a Ernest-Hemingway-boxingformer KGB agent, that Hemingway was at one point a KGB agent, but was let go as his information was generally useless. Those who love him for his writings, raised to his defence pointing out that he was highly courageous and always open about both his past as well as his present. It is quite possible that the KGB agent thought he was listening to an informant, while Hemingway thought he is pouring his heart out to a sympathetic stranger during one of his frequent alcoholic fog episodes.

Green-bull-fence Auto racing, bull fighting, and mountain climbing are the only real sports ... all others are games.

Bull-run-ground

"'Nobody ever lives their life all the way up except bull-fighters.'"
- Chapter 2, The Sun Also Rises

Pamplona-bull-deat

To me heaven would be a big bull ring with me holding two barrera seats and a trout stream outside that no one else was allowed to fish in and two lovely houses in the town; one where I would have my wife and children and be monogamous and love them truly and well and the other where I would have my nine beautiful mistresses on nine different floors.

Pamplona-Bull

When we recently learned about a Spaniard being gored to death in what has been termed one of the wildest Pamplona bull races in years, and that in related news, a horse died in Canada after a race of a heart attack we could not help thinking of the old man and his sea of novels. This is also why we added the scenes of the goring and Pamplona race at the end of the playlist above.

A recent study shows that living abroad enhances creativity. So great is Hemingway’s association with being worldly that the Economist use him as an example, closing their article with claiming that merely traveling without living abroad extensively does not help much:

Packing your beach towel and suntan lotion will not, by itself, make you Hemingway.

In another book, the Spanish war is seen as a precursor to WWII:

“IN SPAIN two vast world forces are testing each other out: if Franco conquers, Europe will be black or Europe will go to war as soon as Hitler and Mussolini are ready.” That was the correct prediction in 1936 of Louis Fischer, an American journalist so convinced of the dangers of Franco’s fascist rebellion that he joined the International Brigades to take up arms on behalf of the Republican government.

As such, Hemingway was on the right side of history – though spying for Stalin would have been definitely wrong, even though at that time Stalin’s and Mao’s crimes and genocides were largely unknown.

Closet-minded people

1). So what really happened?

The thief forced his way into her apartment, she made him a cup of tea, then listened sympathetically to his life story for about 20 minutes. Entertained, she gave him 10000 yen ($100) then ran outside to call the Police from a pay phone, presumably leaving the baby with the thief. I am just as confused as you are.

This is not the only time Japanese has been in the news with a woman in a very strange situation. At the end of May, 2008, we learned about a 58 y.o. woman who lived hidden in a small closet in a 58 y.o man’s house FOR A YEAR (2). That man became suspicious after food disappeared from the fridge, so he installed a surveillance system, filming her as she walked around his house in his absence. I always suspected that that Japanese horror flick with the house that kills, taking the shape of a woman, was based on reality. Was that woman also living a secret fantasy? Were they, unbeknownst to him, masturbating simultaneously? Hard to tell. Still, old people in Japan have significant difficulties surviving. Their society sees people who have to depend on others as deadweight, and being unable to provide for yourself is a great shame. Many people die of hunger rather than apply to be on welfare and when they apply they are often rejected (3).

If you think that only Japanese women can inspire horror movies, you’re wrong. David Joe Limones (4), 27, from Newburgh, NY, carved a hole into a 22 y.o. woman’s couch and hid in it, waited for her to come home, to emerge from there as she sat on him, while talking to a friend on the phone. Apparently, she was on the phone with a friend because she felt he might be hiding there and she had filed a complaint about him before (???!!!).

This reminds me of one of my favourite beer commercials. At a costume party, a sexy blonde sits on a comfy couch. Two weirdoes in costumes sat by her side, trying to seduce her. She’s not interested, and changes positions several times. Eventually, she stands up departing, leaving the two bozos behind. As she goes, we see that the couch was actually some happy dude in a couch costume. He then opens up a beer, the source of all his power, intellect, inspiration and creativity.

Feeling the couch moving underneath you is bad enough, but having a baby bat in your 34FF bra could make you feel sorry for disturbing it. At least that’s what Abbie Hawkins, 19, of Norwich, UK said.

“It looked cosy and comfortable and I was sorry for disturbing it,” she said.

She was sitting at her desk at work when she decided to investigate the strange movements in her underwear. “I put my hand down my bra and pulled out a cuddly little bat. Perhaps I should have left it there and given it a good home.”

“That shocked me very much at the time, but it scuttled off under the desk into the dark. I was shaking from head to toe.

“It looked quite cosy and comfortable in there so it was quite rude of me to take it out.

“When I realised it was a bat the first thing that occurred to me was how did it get in there.

“I felt quite sorry for it. Perhaps I should have left it there and given it a good home.

“I did not notice anything as I put my bra on. The night before I had had one or two drinks and I was getting ready quickly.

“The bra was in my drawer but it had been on the washing line the day before.

“When I was driving to work, I felt a slight vibration but I thought it was just my mobile phone in my jacket pocket.”

The bat was captured by one of her colleagues and released.

Sometimes, it’s news like this that make you want to use the toilet. And if you’re in southern India, in the Tamil Nadu state, the government will pay you to use the toilet (5):

It pays to use a toilet in southern India, as residents are earning close to a dollar a month by using public urinals, a scheme launched by authorities to promote hygiene and research in rural areas.

Dozens of people are queuing up to use toilets in Musiri, a remote town in Tamil Nadu state, where authorities have succeeded in keeping street corners clean with the new scheme, The Times of India newspaper said on Sunday.

“In fact, many of us started using toilets for urination only after the ecosan (ecological sanitation) toilets were constructed in the area,” said S. Rajasekaran, a truck cleaner.

The urine was also being collected and tested for its efficacy as a crop fertilizer, an official of the state’s agricultural university added.

People relieving themselves in the open is a common sight in India’s rural towns and villages, as basic sanitation still eludes millions.
