Trolling the SlutWalk

Not long ago, the blogosphere has been rocked by a major controversy: was the man who exposed his penis at a SlutWalk a rapist?

penis-troll-guyIt all started with this guy, who ended up being arrested..

Apparently, this man exposed his penis, causing the crowd to turn violent and attack him, as can be seen in this video. Here’s my reply (the initial write-up below):

For a moment, I thought that was pepper spray. But this perfectly illustrates the idiocy and hypocrisy of feminism.

A penis is not a tool of oppression inasmuch as long hair, eyelashes, lipstick, or breasts are not. Let’s look at the assertions below (they’re just too dumb, I know, but someone’s gotta do it):

   1. More women than men believe “she was asking for it” - over 50% (DM). What do they know that most men don’t? This definitely wasn’t a protest against men or their penises.
   2. “the gathering was supposed to” - I strongly doubt that anyone can claim that any such action where so many people participate has a set purpose, an immovable/immutable purpose that cannot be redefined and made personal by each participant. That being said, I myself do not condone rape and don’t believe is the victim’s fault for getting raped (except for the few cases when somebody lies about being raped and is in turned raped by the “justice” system)
   3. We do not know what the guy was thinking - trying to guess is speculative. He might’ve thought, for example, that excessive focus on a traumatic event is likely to prolong and intensify the agony. By a simple gesture of light-hearted fun he may be attempting to help the victims move beyond their bubble of paranoia, penis-envy and self-hatred. He may also be attempting to be injecting a bit of self-confidence in their hysterical egos. As for people in the audience who were supposedly underage, what were they doing there, at a SlutWalk if they couldn’t stomach the view of a faraway penis?!? Isn’t that more the fault of their parents than of the exhibitionist trolling dude?
Most importantly, why is exposing a penis at a SLUTwalk “sexual harassment  but burning your bra or exposing your breasts a gesture of liberation?!?
   4. Anyone blaming the guy does not understand the essence of democracy and tolerance and is quite worthy, in my view, of the “feminazi” label. Most of this is conjecture (see above). I wish I had this guy’s email - I’d PayPal him a beer in an instant :)
   5. This is an interesting analogy. There is no question that blacks have been historically severely persecuted and continue to be. But while blacks are being persecuted for their visible characteristics (hence the term visible minority), anyone can be a victim of rape, including men. The persecuted are, in the case of the blacks, much more clearly defined than rape survivors. I would never taunt a gathering of blacks with a noose much like I would not expose my dick in public anywhere other than a shower after swimming, but I would consider any similar overreaction what it is: an overreaction.

Finally, for the other men in the group, “bros b4 hos” cannot ring truer than at a “slut walk” :)))

Why does he look like he’s getting a BJ, though? :D

ORIGINAL

this guy pulled out his dick in front of like 5 billion feminist protestors holy shit

Some context for the idiots claiming the women are overreacting:

1. This occurred at a Slut Walk. For those not familiar with it, the Slut Walk is basically a peaceful protest seeking to eliminate the rape apologism so prevalent in society. The basis is that no woman is “asking for it,” with “it” being rape. It’s not a feminist protest; it’s a human rights protest.

2. Many of the protesters, as you can probably imagine, have dealt with sexual harassment or rape in their own lives. Many of them have structured their daily activities to avoid being raped. The gathering is supposed to be a place for them to feel empowered and able to recover in the company of those who understand what they’ve been through or who will not blame them.

Nobody at a Slut Walk will tell a survivor that it’s her fault. They will not ask what she was wearing to provoke her attacker. Nobody will say she had too much to drink. Nobody will tell the men in the group that they are inherently rapists themselves, and nobody will tell a male survivor that his experience “wasn’t really rape.”

3. Then, this fellow comes along. He sees this gathering of survivors and their supporters, and to him, it’s a joke. He sees feminazis. He sees girls who are taking “a bit of fun” too seriously. And what does he do? He exposes himself to this group of survivors and supporters - some of whom are, in fact, underage.

He sexually harasses literally hundreds of women in one act. Aside from public indecency, there was cruel intent in his actions. He wanted to make them uncomfortable. He wanted to “put them in their place.” Other photos from this event show him flipping the protesters off and laughing at their anger.

4. And there are still people defending his actions. There are those who still feel like these women were asking for it and that they deserved to be harassed for trying to claim they weren’t  There are those who feel that women should be taught a lesson this way, and they applaud this man’s actions.

So no, he didn’t pull out his dick in front of feminist protesters. He harassed dozens - if not hundreds - of rape survivors. The reaction to his actions alone outline the purpose of the Slut Walk.

5. For those of you still doubting whether what he did was wrong (and I do wonder if there’s something wrong with you, if you have doubts), let me give you an analogous situation. Imagine a gathering of black civil rights activists. Imagine Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, and all their colleagues gathered together to demonstrate that being black did not make them lesser people. That being black and living in the South did not mean they were “asking” to be the target of hate crimes.

And at this gathering, a white man decides he should teach them a lesson by pointedly hanging a noose from the nearest tree and laughing at their anger. And other white men, laughing along with him, commend him for taking these activists down a peg.

That’s what happened here. It’s not an “OMG, I can’t believe he did that!” moment. It’s an “OMG, there are people who think this is okay” moment. And the fact is, it’s not. It never will be. And that’s the take home message of this ridiculous rant I’ve written up.

His face pisses me off.

This really represents what everyday life is like for women.

I numbered the assertions and responded above.

I might as well point out that anyone with porn gifs tagged “rape” on their tumblr should probably shut the fuck up, fyln.

A rather silly reply followed:

then, descartesmeaway:

You don’t see something inherently wrong with the porn industry doing those things and you perpetuating it by spreading it? a lot of people are racist but that doesn’t mean racism is right, therefore just because something harmful gets a lot of reblogs, doesn’t make it right. Taking pleasure in rape is like taking pleasure in pedophilia. Just because the attraction exists doesn’t mean you follow it. Would you reblog pedophilia because its “part of the human experience”?

also, my thoughts are original. i have never taken a women’s studies class and i find academics to be too supremacist and discriminatory in general to ever agree with most views.
OH and rape and anal have nothing in common, at all. don’t pretend they’re comparable, even in the fetish world.

I can’t believe you seriously expect me to have this conversation - it’s a strawman larger than life. You completely ignored my punctual rebuttal preferring instead the equally (if not more) flawed “porn inherently wrong” line of argumentation.

You ask me not to compare rape and anal, but it’s OK for you to compare rape and pedophilia. WTF?!?

I am not posting (nor will I ever post) anything susceptible to be interpreted as pedophilic not b/c it’s immoral but b/c it’s illegal and most likely contradicting tumblr terms of use. These R da rulz of da haus and I play by da rulz. I also don’t have access to and try to stay away from that kind of stuff. I’m simply not in the business of passing judgement on sexual practices, I’ve no interest in that. This is not a blog on morality issues, this should pretty much be obvious to anyone but bigots & ppl suffering from tunnel vision.

Incidentally, the laws on pedophilia happen to be far stricter than they should be, precisely b/c a large contingent of the population is falling for your deeply flawed and emotionally charged line of reasoning.

From criminallawyer:

For hundreds of years, it was a crime to have sex with a girl before she reached puberty. Mens Rea wasn’t an issue, not because of any legal policy, but because it simply never came up! In all those centuries, there is no record of a single person raising even a mistake defense. Because come on, how could you not know?

But during the Victorian “new prudishness” after the Civil War, states started raising the “age of consent” up into the late teens! It wasn’t meant to punish the men, really. It was more a paternalistic attempt to maintain control over our daughters’virtue!

If anyone asks, the theory is that “as a matter of law” the teen couldn’t have consented. And sex without consent is rape. But now it could be very easy tomistake whether a particular young woman is “of age.”

-How old you thought she was isn’t the important factor here.

-Then what is?

-Someone slept with my daughter, that’s what!

Anyway, I don’t want to debate pedophilia here. I do not necessarily condone or engage in the kind of porn I post / reblog in much the same way I do not condone killing people just b/c I play an occasional shoot’em up. Our laws and beliefs on and about sexuality are still stuck in Victorian times and that’s the reason you even bring this up. If you want to live your life corseted by such prejudices, that’s certainly your right, just don’t seek to impose your misgivings onto others.

I’m not in the business of entertaining strawmen. Either come up with some mature arguments or let’s debate something you might have a better handle on, such as some tasty recipes, how to remove stains, home remedies - that kind of thing.

With this, the “debate” was over.
